Since 1998, Bloomfield Township has been committed to providing a safe, walkable community and through the Jan Roncelli Safety Path Program, nearly 80 miles of safety path have been installed throughout the Township. This year, Bloomfield Township will be installing safety path on the south side of Quarton Road, from N Cranbrook Road to Chesterfield Avenue. Mobilization is currently scheduled to begin on October 14, 2026 with construction set to follow on October 19, 2026.

OCG Companies, LLC is the contractor for this safety path project. The Township’s consulting engineering firm, Hubbell, Roth, & Clark, Inc. (HRC), will have an observer on-site daily throughout the project. In addition, inspectors from the Township will be on-site regularly.

This construction will involve intermittent lane closures of Quarton Road in the project area from 9AM – 3PM on workdays. OCG will have flaggers on-site to maintain the flow of traffic in both directions during the closure periods and access to residences will be maintained at all times during construction.

Restoration of turf and other affected areas, as well as repairs to damaged irrigation systems will occur at the end of the project. Should you have any concerns or questions about the project, please notify the Bloomfield Township Engineering and Environmental Services Department, as listed herein:
