Summer taxes were due on September 14th and to date we’ve collected almost 95% of bills sent. We have mailed out reminder notices for those still owing, which will show the new balance owed, as late payments
incur interest (this interest is not kept by the Township, as Summer taxes are primarily all school related).
Winter tax bills will be sent on December 1, 2026 and are due by February 16, 2027. If not paid by the due date, a 3% penalty is placed on the bill. As a reminder, we don’t accept postmarks, so if you are planning to mail your payment, please do so several weeks before February 16th. On March 2, 2027, any unpaid tax amounts are considered delinquent and turned over to the Oakland County Treasurer’s Office.
Winter tax collection is notably different from summer tax collection because the Township collects all its millages during the winter. These millages account for approximately 70% of the revenue in the Township’s annual budget, funding critical services, and operations.
