Bloomfield Township precincts have been consolidated from 18 to 12 and voting locations have been reduced to 10. This action was the result of a 7-month study undertaken by my office that included dozens of community members who work elections, the Township Board of Trustees, and the Township Election Commission.  As a result, we will save money by adjusting resources away from Election Day voting and toward Absentee and Early Voting while continuing to ensure that the voter’s Election Day experience remains efficient and secure.  If your precinct or voting location has changed, you will receive a new Voter Information Card in the mail (formerly known as the Voter ID Card). Take a look at the new precinct map for reference.  As always, call or email the Clerk's Office with questions.

These changes were precipitated by the fact that seventy-four percent of registered voters in the Township voted absentee or early in-person in the 2024 General Election.  This is the reverse of 2016 when seventy-four percent voted on Election Day. The trend is similar statewide. Since most people no longer cast a vote on Election Day, the State updated the law to increase the number of registered voters who can live within a precinct’s boundaries from 2,999 to 4,999.  Also, it is relevant to note that clerks in other Oakland County municipalities have also consolidated and as a result, there are now approximately 67 less precincts in the county.

There is an election this fall if you live in the Bloomfield Hills or Pontiac school districts. Election Day is November 4, 2025, and Early Voting runs from October 25 to November 2nd.  Absentee ballots will be mailed by the end of September to those who are on the permanent ballot list or those that applied to receive an absent voter ballot for this election. See sample ballots.
