Opportunity in the Clerk's Office
This critical position performs key duties in the Clerk's Office and reports to the Township Clerk. Particularly, administering all necessary actions to ensure the open, transparent and compliant functioning of the Board of Trustees and numerous other public boards/committees. The position also assists with elections, permits/licenses, and supports the records and information management program and public access to records.
Core Duties:
- Preparation of agendas, meeting packets, meeting minutes, and resolutions
- Noticing, mailing, and publication of meetings and agenda items
- Maintaining information transparency programs for the public bodies coordinated by the Clerk's Office
- Assisting with elections
- Assisting with FOIA requests
- Assisting with record retention and management with Laserfiche
- Assisting with permits, licenses, notaries, and passports
This is the ideal role for someone who has experience in a municipal clerk's office and has earned a bachelor's degree or equivalent. To be the best fit, you need to be comfortable operating on deadlines but flexible enough to constantly adjust in a fast-paced work environment. You must have extraordinary attention to detail, strong editing skills, reading ability, and computer skills. You have to have a love for writing, process documentation and improvement, and a knack for customer service.
